      Together Harvard University and XVIVO developed this 3D animation journey for Harvard's undergraduate Molecular and Cellular Biology students about the microscopic world of the mighty mitochondria (blue 'submarine like' forms with a double layer of membranes). The animation highlights the creation of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) -- mobile molecules which store chemical energy derived from the breakdown of carbon-based food. ATP molecules act as a kind of currency, imparting chemical energy to power all the functional components of cellular activity. ATP is produced by the mitochondria.
      This piece is the second in a series of award winning animations XVIVO is creating for Harvard's educational website BioVisions at Harvard. The first program, Inner Life of the Cell, received international acclaim and can be seen both on our website and the BioVisions site.

HYPOTHYROIDISM - TYPE 2 -'Sub clinical hypothyroidism' Level 3 
Dr. Starr had chronic back pain from his accident. He took a pain fellowship and found his cure. It turns out that he, his mother and brother all had genetic hypothyroid disfunction  which responds to dessicated thyroid and not T4 or T3. He found that up to 40% of the US population may carry this defect which is responsible for multiple inflammatory symptoms and pain.
     Now he is starting up a pain clinic in Arizona just like his mentor, Dr. Barnes. Barnes' clinic followed his patients for 30 years and found positive unexpected improvements in their health by treating their 'hypothyroidism-type 2' with dessicated thyroid but not with T4 and T3.
